From February 18-26, ten undergraduate students participated in the Peking University (PKU) – Yokohama National University (YNU) Short-Visit Program on the YNU campus in Japan. During the nine-day stay, students visited the Research Institute of Environment and Informational Sciences (EIS) and Faculty of Engineering at YNU. They also communicated with faculty and students.
Several researchers from the College of Engineering (COE) officially launched their Singapore-based research center, SPURc, after their detailed research plan got approved at the first SPURc Steering Committee meeting held on February 24 at Peking University.
Selected COE undergraduate students will have the opportunity to study at University of Maryland for one semester in either their sophomore or junior year.

The meeting was convened by Duoxiang Wang, assistant dean of the College of Engineering and vice chair of the Committee for Technology and Entrepreneurship. Wang and all the directors of the system’s affiliate organizations attended the meeting.
The New Year Gala, an annual event of celebration of the New Year’s Day, brought to the audience an exciting watching experience with a diverse and original programme on December 12. A get-together for faculty and staff has also been scheduled on January 14.
