On June 22, a team of professors from Chinese University of Hong Kong's engineering school visited Peking University College of Engineering.
The Peking University College of Engineering signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uruguayan Center of Molecular Imaging (CUDIM) on June 8 for research and education in molecular imaging and early cancer detection.
On June 10, a team of low carbon researchers from Peking University headed by College of Engineering Executive Vice Dean Dongxiao Zhang passed the final oral defense hosted by Singapore’s National Research Foundation, paving the way for the setup of the Singapore Peking University Research Centre for a Sustainable Low-Carbon Future (SPURc) by Peking University in Singapore.
Team Polyman, comprised of Peking University College of Engineering students including Xuan Liu, Zhijie Wei, and Xiang Li, took first place. Another COE team won the Excellence Award. COE Associate Professor Bin Gong was awarded with the title “Outstanding Instructor.”
On the evening of May 31, over 30 College of Engineering graduating seniors had their Capstone Design oral defense. Named “Design Night 2011,” this event provided an excellent opportunity for the students who had taken the course to demonstrate their design projects and products.
Nano Letters recently published College of Engineering professor Anyuan Cao’s and his group’s latest research and progress of solar cells: “Achieving High Efficiency Silicon-Carbon Nanotube Heterojunction Solar Cells by Acid Doping.”
Co-founded by Peking University and Beijing Disabled Persons Association, the center will carry out studies on intelligent assistive limbs based on dynamic walking mechanism. The research will potentially benefit the disabled.
