On May 4, invited by the Peking University Alumni Association, hundreds of PKU alumni and their families returned to their beloved campus to celebrate alma mater’s 115th anniversary.

They were treated to a series of well organized activities, including “recalling old times on campus,” “a tour of culture,” “a glance of student societies” as well as “football playing and other sports”.

Individual reception booths were set up by subordinate colleges and departments in the large arena adjacent to the southeast gate of campus, where the returning alumni had the opportunity to meet with current faculty, staff and students.

The booth of College of Engineering (COE) received dozens of alumni, most of whom were gray-headed, some in their 80s. Though having left school for decades, they never forgot the alma mater and have always cared about COE’s development. The COE Office for Alumni Relations warmly received them and prepared for them college brochures, quarterly periodicals featuring recent news and events and souvenir T-shirts.

PKU Executive Vice President Zhipan Wu and COE Dean Shiyi Chen visited the booth successively, and communicated with the staff and alumni.

The Alumni Association of Beiping University-Peking University College of Engineering’s annual meeting was also convened on the same day, which voted new chairs and vice chairs of the  directors’ board and supervisory board. Secretary General Ms. Yongmei Li of COE Alumni Association was elected vice chair of the directors’ board, who will serve the role of enhancing the relations between the two organizations.
