This year, 166 students in total including 78 undergraduates and 88 master/Ph.D. graduates have completed their degrees. Early in the morning, many COE leaders and professors congratulated them and took photos with them in front of the university hall, all wearing caps and gowns.

Dean Dongxiao Zhang first gave a congratulating speech. He said, “Innovation is an amazing thing that drives the society forward, and the College of Engineering is in continuous endeavor to explore new technology. I hope that in your future life, you can strive to be innovative in either study or work, and become a pioneer in your field.”
Alumnus Baoping Fen (2011’) is currently Project Manager of a national energy company. He told his life story to the graduates, and expressed gratitude to the college. He gave the graduates the best wishes for the future.
Subsequently, teacher representative Professor Anyuan Cao asked the graduates to be hard working. He gave his own examples of achieving many successes in his studies and work by means of being hard working, and summarized that hard-working is the key to success and solution to any difficulties.

According to the overall performances during the years at university, several students were elected to be outstanding undergraduates and outstanding graduates. They received the honor on the ceremony.
In particular, the first batch of 22 COE Master of Engineering Management (MEM) students received their degrees this year. The MEM program is a professional degree program to meet the pressing demand of the country’s fast economic development on high-caliber engineering managers. COE hopes that the graduates will become high-level managers who understand both the engineering and business aspects of technology.
