On May 25, Mr. Yusuo Wang, the Chairman of ENN Group, accompanied by Mr. Hai Zhu, the President of Schneidar Electric Group (China), visited COE PKU to discuss the cooperation issues. The COE leaders, including Dean Dongxiao Zhang, Party Secretary Zhili Sun, Associate Dean Duoxiang Wang, Assitant Dean Yongmei Li, Vice Party Secretary Dingguo Xia and Director of Department of Energy and Resources Engineering Xidong Wang as well as Professor Ruqiang Zou attended this meeting and gave presentations.    

ENN is one of the largest private energy companies in China headquartered in Langfang, Hebei Province, P.R. China. Since its establishment in 1989, ENN has developed from a natural gas distributor to a conglomerate engaging in natural gas distribution, chemicals, solar energy, intelligent energy, energy R&D, cultural and health industry, hospitality, and real estate. Presently, ENN owns a large market share in China's natural gas downstream market and plans to provide integrated energy solution to our clients.

During the meeting, Dean Dongxiao Zhang introduced the reestablishment and development of COE. Over the past 10 years, COE has already made remarkable achievements in teaching, research and convert of production-study-research with the fast developments of domestic technology. Under the stimulation of self-dependent innovation, COE is commitment to build a leading engineering with high beginning, high quality, and high grade. In order to keep up with the new trend of innovation and increasing stressing on collaboration, the COE has established an open-style Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship System (TTES) which relies on close cooperation between the University and many external schools and enterprises in the relating field. On behalf of COE, Dean Dongxiao Zhang also expressed the willing to collaborate with the ENN Group.

Chairman Yusuo Wang listen Zhang’s report very carefully. He asked many questions about size of each department, research area, faculty team and the operation mechanism of COE. He said that the ENN is in the stage of the reform and transformation, and is looking for project opportunities and innovative ideas. Associate Dean Duoxiang Wang introduced the co-construction of collaboration innovation center in last year on basis of COE PKU as well as several academic institutes and high technology companies.  

After that, Director of Department of Energy and Resources Engineering Xidong Wang introduced the industrial projects. He emphasized that now there are 18 full-time faculty in the department. Professor Dingguo Xia and Ruqiang Zou presented their research work in battery materials and functional phase change energy storage materials.

Through this meeting, the ENN Group showed great interests in in the field of material application and microalgae technology. Chairman Yusuo Wang and President Hai Zhu also shared their experience in college-enterprise collaborative operation and the talents training. The bilateral actively discussed the collaboration intention and mode. 

After this meeting, Mr. Yusuo Wang, the Chairman of ENN Group, met Lin, Jianhua, the President of Peking University, for in-depth exchange of college- enterprise cooperation.
