    Dr. Yossi Dashti made a special academic report to MEM students

  • On May 26th, a lecture about innovation and entrepreneurship was successfully presented in Room 210, COE Building No.1. Dr. Yossi Dashti from Israel's Ben-Gurion University gave a present entitled “Global Innovation: a case of Israel development and Sino-Israel collaboration”. Faculty and MEM students from Innovative Education Center attended this lecture, which was hosted by Yongmei Li, the director of Innovative Education Center.

    In this lecture, Dr. Yossi talked about the history of the “Silk Road” and its important role in linking Israel and China. He also introduced the outstanding achievements in science and technology innovation as well as entrepreneurship in Israel, and their important impacts on China’s “One Belt and One Road” in future.

    Dr. Yossi then showed a group of Bloomberg data that Israel ranks the first place in the world in Innovation, and China ranks the first place in the world in manufacturing. He believes that the Chinese government is now advocating for innovation, which will provide a good material foundation and environment for China's innovation. Based on this, Dr. Yossi pointed out that innovation can be obtained through either purchasing or self-creation so that make realization from domestic to global innovation. He hoped that the onsite students major in technology management and engineering can cultivate innovation spirit, and develop innovation in practical work.

    Just as Yongmei Li said in the beginning of this lecture, Israel is the Kingdom of global innovation, she hoped that the students could be inspired by Dr. Yossi’s talk, cultivate innovative thinking and paid more attention to the connection between major theoretical and practical work. Meanwhile, she emphasized that this lecture was a milestone for MEM students to understand the development of cutting-edge innovation and entrepreneurship theory as well as broaden the student’s horizons, laid a basis for the MEM students to go abroad to learn from the Silicon Valley and Israel.
