    Shouguang City of Shandong Province visits the College of Engineering to seek cooperation in technology transfer

  • On March 17, led by Mr. Shutao Ge, Deputy Minister of Organization of Shouguang City in Shandong Province, a delegation of its government officers and entrepreneurs paid a visit to the College of Engineering, Peking University. They were warmly received by Mr. Zhili Sun, Party Secretary of the College and Ms. Yongmei Li, Assistant Dean. The two sides discussed technology transfer and entrepreneurship cooperation.

    At the meeting, Mr. Ge introduced the basic situation of Shouguang City. Shouguang City is located in the northern part of Shandong Peninsula. It is abundant in vegetables and resources such as underground water, oil and gas. Shouguang City is now actively carrying out industrial upgrading, by developing biomedicine, new energy, clean energy, marine industry and other hi-tech industries.

    Mr. Sun said that the College of Engineering, although re-established just a decade ago, has gone through rapid development, putting emphasis on teaching and research on the frontier and interdisciplinary areas. Its publications and projects ranked no.1 per capita at the university. Ms. Hong Zhou of the Office of Technology Transfer introduced the system of technology transfer and the latest achievement in the college.

    Subsequently, according to the natural conditions and characteristics of the industrial structure of Shouguang City, researchers Yong Nie, Heng Li, and Shaoxin Wang in the Department of Energy and Resources Engineering of the College talked about certain areas that have research cooperation potential, which include the microbe fertilizer and feed system coupling cycle technology, shale gas development technology, municipal solid waste resources and technology.

    The free discussion session afterwards furthered deepen mutual understanding to dig out a lot of matching points both in technology and personnel.
