Material scientist Xiaowei Zhan in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering has been elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), established in 1841, is the oldest chemical community in the world, the largest chemical society in Europe, and one of the most influential international academic organizations. The Fellows program of RSC recognizes chemists for outstanding achievements in and contributions to chemical science, the profession, and the society.
Professor Zhan’s research interests focus on organic and polymeric optoelectronic materials and devices. He has published more than 140 peer-reviewed papers in high-quality journals so far, with SCI citations of over 5300. He is among Essential Science Indicators "Highly Cited Scientists" (top 1%).
Dr. Zhan was also recipient of the "Hundred Talents Program" of Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as “Distinguished Young Scholars” of Natural Science Foundation of China. Professor Zhan is serving as an associate editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry.
