The results of the 2010 College Student Mathematics Contest revealed that students from the College of Engineering beat their competitors from other universities in the amateur group, snagging three first place medals, two second place, and one third.

The College Student Mathematics Contest is hosted annually by the Chinese Mathematical Society and is undertaken by the National University of Defense Technology. The competition aims to promote the reform of mathematics programs in higher education institutes, improve teaching skills of the subject, arouse student interest, as well as discover and select innovative talents. Students from COE actively participated in this year’s contest and achieved excellent results.
