On the 113th anniversary of Peking University, a large number of alumni returned to their beloved campus for a reunion. To give the College of Engineering’s alumni a warm welcome, the Alumni Relations Office of COE organized an alumni reunion event at Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center on May 4.

The meeting, chaired by Wenchang Tan, professor and secretary of CPC, was of great importance to the college administration.
Dean Shiyi Chen expressed his sincere thanks to the alumni for their continuous support while Executive Vice Dean Dongxiao Zhang gave a detailed report of COE’s latest faculty recruitment, scientific research, student education, and industrial cooperation. Zhang also highlighted the importance of the tenure-track policy for its faculty members.

Heated discussion among the alumni
The introduction triggered a heated discussion among the alumni. Xinbao Dong, Jin Xu and Naijian Zhai, representatives of the old, the middle-aged and the young alumni respectively, shared stories about their campus lives and expressed their thoughts on how to further develop the College.
