The Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China recently published the “Statistical Data of Chinese S&T Papers of 2010.”

In the section “Top 100 Most Cited Chinese Papers Published in International Journals,” Peking University was ranked top among the affiliations, with eight papers listed. Among them, four of the papers were first-authored by researchers from the College of Engineering.

The top 100 papers were selected from the SCI covered journals published in 2010 which are first authored by a Chinese researcher. The 100 papers cover 26 disciplines including chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics and medicine. Criteria include the innovativeness of the paper, references, citations, journal importance etc. It takes into account the balance of all the disciplines but also gives preference to the nation’s key development areas and hot research areas in the world.

The four listed COE research papers are authored by Professor Dongxiao Zhang, Professor Lin Huang, Professor Qiang Sun and Professor Yanglong Hou.
