Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) had a dialogue with Peking University (PKU) on February 29, seeking greater cooperation.
Professor Valérie Cabuil, director of Chimie ParisTech (chemistry), paid a visit to PKU, and spoke with PKU President Qifeng Zhou and various professors.
Professor Kai Wu, dean of the College of Chemistry and Professor Dongxiao Zhang, executive vice dean of COE, introduced PKU from a prospective of research, teaching and international cooperation in the fields of chemistry, energy resources and materials.
Cabuil introduced France’s higher education system and other conditions of Chimie ParisTech. She said that her school was very glad to enroll Chinese students through ParisTech’s “9+9 Program” to train Chinese engineers. By participating in the program, graduates of nineChinese universities – PKU included – can study at ParisTech with tuition waived.
Professors from the two sides all expressed the willingness to have more communications and cooperation in the future.
At the end of this visit, guests visited PKU’s Center for Nanochemistry and Key Laboratory of Microorganism and Biological Technology.

Each college represents the optimum academic standard at its own field, including computer science, physics, and economics. The president of this institute is elected by the college’s directors every two years.
