
On July 8th, the donation and strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony for the College of Engineering (COE), Peking University (PKU) and ENN Group was held at Peking University.
Mr. Yusuo Wang, Chairman of ENN, signed the cooperation agreement with Mr. Jianhua Lin, President of PKU. Ms. Ruigai Han, Chairman of ENN Philanthropy Foundation, and Mr. Zhipan Wu, Executive Vice President of PKU, signed the donation agreement.
According to the agreement, ENN will make a beneficent donation and cooperation fund of 300 million RMB to COE, for the purpose of the latter’s infrastructure construction, key research projects, talent cultivation and technology industrialization.The two parties joined hands with an aim to make better use of each other’s strengths, to share their resources, to advance innovation levels, and to achieve a win-win cooperation.
PKU President Jianhua Lin said on the ceremony, “COE focuses on frontier technology and interdisciplinary studies, and has led technology revolution in many of the nation’s major projects. ENN is a leading company in the field of energy and environment protection in China. It has a good relationship with PKU, having previously supported the establishment of the Fund of Philosophy and Modern China at PKU. This time the cooperation has extended to the engineering discipline. ENN has emphasis on self-owned technology innovation and application, and has an international research team of 700 people working on key technologies and product development. The cooperation will surely promote research levels and speed up technology transfer and industrialization process.”
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ENN Philanthropy Foundation, one of whose missions is to support the cause of education. With its donation of 300 million RMB, the two parties will carry out collaborations in the following four areas:
Firstly, jointly establish the PKU-ENN Teaching Award to recognize teachers in the College of Engineering who have made excellent teaching and research achievements.
Secondly, establish the ENN Engineering Chair Professorship to provide stipends and fund research projects.
Thirdly, co-build the PKU-ENN Technology Innovation Center to carry out research and application of energy, materials and biomedical technologies.
Fourthly, ENN will setup a pilot base at PKU for contract energy management.
“The nowadays China is facing industry transformation, and technology innovation is a key problem. COE was reestablished ten years ago with new mechanisms, new methods and new modes. It has rich experience in technology innovation and transfer. We feel honored to forge the collaboration with them. I believe the cooperation will be profound and lasting,” said ENN Chairman Yusuo Wang.
