Recently, the Center for Applied Physics and Technology (CAPT) of Peking University held an academic committee meeting. Members of the committee, including academician Weiyan Zhang and Shiyi Chen, advisor of CAPT academician Jia’er Chen, director of CAPT academician Xiantu He and heads of many related colleges of Peking University attended the meeting, along with many faculty members of the center.
Guided by the discipline of actively exploring the frontier problems in the field of high energy density physics, CAPT has expanded its professional team, achieved noticeable research outcomes, published 151 research papers on high-level journals and increased collaboration with other research institutes in the previous year, according to the report by the center director Prof. He.
Besides, the center initiated over 30 academic exchange activities in 2014, among which the 2nd International Meeting for High Energy Density Physics was of high impact in global academics, which gathered over 20 international renowned scholars and over 130 national experts who gave 72 academic reports.
The academic committee spoke highly of the fruitful results the center has achieved in the past year, and gave many suggestions for its further development and planning.
