Four years after her first visit to Peking University, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg reunited with the faculty and students of the master’s degree program of international pharmaceutical engineering management (IPEM) of Peking University on November 17, 2014.
In her keynote speech titled Globalization and Regulatory Science, Dr Hamburg said she was extremely proud for the establishment of a world-class graduate program in IPEM to train future leaders in China’s pharmaceutical industry and accelerate the modernization of the industry with the collaboration between Peking University and the FDA.
She recounted the history of IPEM, and considered its course offering in regulatory science, pharmaceutical science, engineering, business, management, and leadership as being all at the international level.
Dr. Hamburg chatted with the IPEM faculty and students, held a round-table meeting with a number of industry executives who are long-time IPEM supporters, and took group photos with the IPEM faculty and students, all in a festive atmosphere.
