Project “Alarm Design and Removal Methods and Applications for Highly Efficient and Safe Operation of Large-Scale Industrial Systems” launched

  • On October 14, 2014, the project-launch meeting for the key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China —“Alarm Design and Removal Methods and Applications for Highly Efficient and Safe Operation of Large-Scale Industrial Systems” was held in Meeting Room 210, No.1 Building at the College of Engineering (COE), Peking University. As the Principal Investigator, Professor Jiandong Wang from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management presided this meeting and launched this project together with other 20 professors and students coming from Tsinghua University, Hangzhou Dianzi University, the University of Alberta, Canada and Peking University.

At the beginning of this meeting, Professor Jiandong Wang introduced the main research problems and current research progresses in the field of industrial alarm system. During his introduction, Wang had detailed discussions with other professors and students.

Then, other main investigators of this key project, including Professor Jinsong Zhao from Tsinghua University, Researcher Dr. Dexian Huang from Tsinghua University, Professor Chenglin Wen from Hangzhou Dianzi University and Associate Professor Fan Yang from Tsinghua University gave presentations based on their own research work.

Key investigators of this project finally reached agreements on specific issues such as project organization, division of future research work and etc. This meeting and agreement thus laid a solid foundation for smooth progresses of this project.
