The College of Engineering (COE) has a new leadership from July 2013.

Professor Dongxiao Zhang, the former executive vice dean becomes the new dean. The six associate deans include four new appointments, being Steven Feng Chen (chair professor in the Department of Energy and Resources Engineering), Duoxiang Wang (previously the assistant dean for technology transfer and entrepreneurship), Jianxiang Wang (current chair of the Department of Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering), and Huai Yang (current chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering). Daining Fang and Zhili Sun continue their role as associate deans.

Dongxiao Zhang, the new dean, said,” I feel great honor and strong sense of responsibility to take the leadership role. Eight years ago, Professor Shiyi Chen founded the college of engineering at Peking University. It was fortunate for me to be part of his leadership team from day one. Under his leadership, our progress in the past years was incredible. As the new dean, I am fully committed to continue our efforts in becoming a world class engineering school. With the concerted efforts of our faculty and staff, I am certain that we will make concrete progress toward this long term goal. ”
