SD China 2013 updates: Engineering, Communication and Market Appeals Awards conferred

  • On the morning of August 9th, three contest results were announced in the Lecture Hall of the Solar Palace, Datong: Engineering, Communications and Market Appeal. Jury members announced 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each contest. The ceremony was witnessed by Director of Solar Decathlon (SD) Mr. Richard King, Director of the SD China Organizing Committee Dr. PR Yu and Vice Mayor of Datong City Mr. Huibin Cao.

When the jury representatives for each contest announced the results, the decathletes screamed with delight when their name was called. Each team told the audience how honored they were to be on-stage and to be scored so highly by the professional juries.

Richard commented that all the teams had done very well, and the event is very fun, with inspiring houses and exciting competition.

“You have worked very hard for the competition, but I think it’s really worthwhile. Thousands of our citizens came to visit your solar houses. Thank you for what you have brought us, and the contributions you made to the application of solar energy,” said Vice Mayor Cao.
