On March 5, nearly 50 University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering faculty and students paid a visit to Peking University to explore cooperation opportunities.
Professor Pingchou Han, College of Engineering Assistant Dean for Global Education, received them and introduced COE's international exchanges programs including the GLOBEX-Design program and GLOBEX-Education Program. The GLOBEX-Design program allows students from participating universities to work together on industry-sourced projects in small-size teams, while the GLOBEX-Education program provides undergraduate students an opportunity to study in one of the participating universities either for one semester or during one summer.
Three current teams participating in the GLOBEX-Design program presented their latest progress.
The Swanson School of Engineering has a strong engineering legacy built on the traditions of Pittsburgh's industrial past.COE and Swanson share similar programs,, such as bioengineering, petroleum engineering, industrial engineering and materials science.
