Representatives from Columbia University visited the College of Engineering on October 25 to discuss possible international exchange and collaboration.
Professor Shaoqiang Tang, associate dean of COE, met with Professor Soulaymane Kachani, vice dean of Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Jenny S. Mak, executive direction of Columbia’s Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
Tang highlighted COE’s current international projects, including the joint Ph.D. programs in biomedical engineering as well as in materials science with Georgia Institute of Technology, the joint Capstone Design program that combines undergraduate students from different universities to work together on industry-sourced design projects, and the Globex-Education exchange program which involves seven universities from the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Kachani expressed that they would like to further establishing relationships with the COE Department of Industrial Engineering and Management as Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science has strong background in industrial engineering.
